Potentially Chinese spyware. If you look up the reviews for the app in iOS, you'll see a lot of complaints about the app wanting access to your entire photo library. The app only has 2.5 stars and they say that camera looks like crap in dark places. Good thing I looked it up before I took the bait.

I bought one of these a few years ago and the app was removed from the Play store. Now I have an old Motorola that has the app still installed and cant install them on any new devices. And yes, I've tried numerous other apps. It doesnt detect the borescope. Same problem I've had with a couple auto diagnostic readers. Works great until they're removed from the play store, and then you're screwed. I think these apps are programmed to only detect their specific hardware.

How could an app take photos if it didn't have access to the photo gallery on the connected device??? Do you complain when a plumber wants to have access to the clogged toilet you called them to fix?
FWIW, you don't have to use their app. There are plenty of other apps that can access what is functionally a generic camera...that is all this is. Even your phone app should be able to pick an external camera (once connected)
I have one of these cheap borescopes (not the same brand) my tablet, phone, and Windows PC all recognize it within seconds...no need to install potential Chinese spyware.
P.S. Slickdeals is tracking you harder than a $13 camera

Used one to see where my roof leak was coming from, it was pinched against studs and just not where I would be able to find unless I tore walls down. Super helpful.
