They're thin plastic filled with cement, and incredibly space inefficient. The larger ones are okay for weighing down certain equipment, but a 7.5 lb plate still takes up roughly the same space as a 25 lb cast iron plate.

These are a great starter set. They'll prob last forever but they're bulky and roll.
