This is very likely the best tv you will find for this price.

The Sony image processing in my x900h is better than in my Samsung s90cd OLED by a long shot.

TCL and Hisense do have some very feature rich TV's that may be slightly better but ive never had any useful amount of experience with those brands UIs or picture quality except on low end stuff at friends houses. I know the newer TVs are way better than those for gaming but this Sony will likely be comparable with VRR, response time etc. It will only have 2 HDMI 2.1 ports though and maybe Hisense and TCL have 4, idk

Nice price. Great tv overall. Still some of the best motion handling on the market imo.

My parents have this line in the 75". The little bit I've watched on it look fantastic. Very "high end" looking video from a casual home user

Got this in 2024 at full price ($1200). Was cross shopping for a TV I could utilize 4k/120fps on. It's been a great experience

Movies and gaming, superb. Built in sound, impressive. At this price it's a steal go get it

I'm still rocking my X950G in my living room and you're right, awesome picture and upscaling due to its great processor.

If I mostly watch 720p or 1080p content, will the X90L upscale it using an AI processor? I currently own a Hisense A65K and plan to use an Nvidia Shield Pro for upscaling. However, if the X90L offers native upscaling, I would consider replacing my current TV. The A65K has a great anti-reflection coating, which is beneficial since we primarily use it in our living room with a direct window opposite the screen.

Given how quickly TV technologies roll out, its crazy to know that this model still performs as well as it does and hold their price well

Yes it will upconvert everything to 4k using conventional upscaling, Sony's processing is really strong and frankly does a little better of a job at recreating the picture than Nvidia shield does given how dated shield's upscaling methods are. The main reasons to use the shield w/ a Sony are mainly for the IO functionality and hardware to host a media server w/ Dolby functionality. Ive owned both the A65K and an older Sony x900H and the A65K is bright but wildly inaccurate looking in comparison to my much older Sony and the OS is a lot more stable on the Sony as well. I have since upgraded my A65k to a U8K and its a vast improvement as well, but I still think my old Sony has better visual comfort, colors, system stability, & processing than the U8K.

Its crazy how good Sony's tvs are despite the age of their products. Its why their A95 has held up so well against the newer high density MiniLEDs and even their own flagship OLEDs on the market over the last 3 years. I've noticed ive constantly been thinking w/ my Hisense that I want to keep upgrading it despite the more modern hardware but I'm far more visually content w/ my older Sony TV every time I use it. I do think their TVs are worth the price.

Same when Sony made the x900H/x950H they really over engineered it.... Despite being a more dated standard LED full array TV, I don't get the sense that the picture looks anymore dated than a modern flagship TV. My newer Hisense U8K i bought 2 years ago i keep thinking about upgrading, but I've never once thought about needing to upgrade the x900H

I have an 85, 65, and 55 inches version of this TV. Can't go wrong, very high quality picture.

Ive owned the Samsung s90cd for a bit more than a year and im glad i kept the x900h. Its been relegated to being a backup TV, but i feel like its definitely more reliable than this Samsung s90cd.

The Samsung has been such a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows for performance. The bt2020 color space, contrast and fast pixel response/refresh time is amazing and way better than the Sony was, but those improvements are often defeated by Samsungs very mediocre processing. Color gradients/gradation/banding are just super bad and can be distractingly noticeable. The auto setting for anything picture related is questionable and im reluctant to use the service menu to adjust stuff because i think im gonna need to use the microcenter extended warranty on it.

The ultra fast pixel response in OLED is amazing especially for gaming but im to the point where im already eyeing the Bravia 7, 8 and 9 just because thet likely won't cause constant "something's not right" type of headaches the Samsung has. Also my Samsung has developed a stuck red pixel/sub pixel which doesn't bode well for its longevity. I wouldn't be super upset or surprised if i had to use the microcenter extended warranty and put the $ amount towards another Sony TV or something other than Samsung.
