Bought $2500 worth of GCs last round . One of the card balance was $0 when I tried to use it ( about 30 days later ). Call the GC number on the back, they looked up and said the card was used a few days prior at 1:30 AM and advised me to call Lowes customer service number. After about an hour on the phone with the manager, he told me to go back to DG since I bought the GC there...... of course, DG can't do anything once they activated the GC. It's out of their hand. I don't think the GC number was stolen as it was in a newer packaging and not easily to tamper with like the old one. I'll probably never going to buy GC from DG anymore and only use online retailers like Newegg.

I think it would a better idea to bind the gc to your account after purchase?

That's an incredibly challenging churn for another 1+ %. I did it recently. BEWARE they make the bonus points expire in the current month rather than the next month like other points. They almost tricked me. Eff em. Straight 15% would be easier

i'm not sure. Adding the GC to my Lowes account won't prevent someone else using it if they have the number and pin (or the physical GC). You're basically just make a "copy" of the GC when added to Lowe's account.

I think that if you directly transfer the money from the physical card to your account, the balance of the card will become zero, and then you don't have to worry about it being used by others.

Yes! so every time I buy a GC, I first check out and pay for it to get the points into my account, and then pay for other groceries separately, so that the points are used up directly.

No, it doesn't transfer. It's just a form of store/copy your GC. You can still use the physical card once you added it to the account . It doesn't work like a "bank" as you're imagining.

I mean, if you redeem the gc to your account and other people can use the money in your account just from the gc number/pin?

You don't redeem until you buy something from Lowes. All you do is just post the physical GC to your Lowes account so you don't have to carry it around.

Had similar issue with Lowes gift card I got for my birthday. the security code on back of card was not valid. Took about a month of emails and phone calls to get fixed. In my case the phone number that Lowes provides on the back of the gift card is useless if security code is issue. The automated service hangs up when you enter the invalid code. Sad

You should be able to add to your Lowe's payment wallet but I dont know if that prevents use by anyone other than the wallet holder?

This probably exists in another BF thread, but I think it deserves its own post so it doesn't get lost.

On Black Friday only, 15% off Lowe's GCs.

Exactly. It's a good practice to check giftcard balances/link them immediately after purchasing them. If you purchased $2,500 worth and waited a month that's on you.
