I have Apple iPad Air and Samsung tablets but this is the first tablet I have this size, and I freaking love it. Smaller than a full on laptop but still super portable. Even fits in my small sling bag. It's the perfect size to get work done. Just connect a BT keyboard/mouse or buy the keyboard folio. You can do side by side windows or use PC mode (Google's version of Samsung DEX but more limited).
Two warnings about this tablet... While the CPU performance is just fine for MS Office apps and browsing and all the work apps I've tried, the GPU seems weak for modern 3D games. I have seen slow down in some games. I play this one Z Survivor, and when there's more than like 100 zombies on the screen, the FPS plummets. And reviews pretty much say the same. Fortnite not good. PubG playable with lower settings.
Second thing is the only biometric ID is a face scanner that doesn't work for banking and other apps that would usually work with fingerprint or face ID.
Lastly for any accessories you get, be sure they match this 2025 version, as this has different dimensions than the previous version. There are few 3rd party accessories, other than basic covers.

Lenovo's Idea Tab Plus stands out as a large 12.1 inch Android tablet for notes, office work, and streaming, with a sharp 2.5K display, 8GB of RAM, a 10200mAh battery, and 45W charging. The size feels portable enough for a bag, and the pen support makes handwriting and text conversion useful, though the pen is not included in the Best Buy version. The main drawbacks are the modest processor and weak graphics for modern 3D games, plus face unlock only and limited accessory options. Security updates are expected through 2029, making it a practical midrange pick for everyday use.

I am not been able to find one with SD8G3. Only seeing either SD870 or MT8300.
Did you read my first comment... it would be deadly slow.
This is already a SLOW TABLET... and you want to make it like 10 times more slow by installing apps on SD cards?
Are failing to understand how computers work? Applications LOAD INTO MEMORY FROM SD CARD... do you know how much slower that is then loading into memory from hard drive?
It is like, NO NO NO, this tablet is not slow enough, we need to find a way to make it slower.
Android's built-in support for moving apps to SD cards was removed in Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), with manufacturers like Sony removing the feature in later devices as well. Google stopped supporting it due to security and privacy concerns, as apps on external storage could be less reliable and perform slower than those on internal storage. While the feature was removed from the core Android OS, some manufacturers have kept similar functionality on their own devices.
So you know why it was stopped like 10 years ago... cause it made your tablet WAY WAY WAY TOO SLOW.
But there are still some manufacturers that still allow it... Motorola, Nokia, Xiaomi, Fairphone are some of the brands that do support the adoptable storage option and some Lenovo tablets. But I would NEVER recommend this.
To me a SD card is where you can store movies and with streaming out there who does that?
Even a quick AI check says the same thing. Only potential "slow down" would be lag from initial access of the application files to load them into memory if the SD card was a particularly slow card in comparison to the internal hard drive of the android device. If the card is as fast there would be zero difference, and if the DS card was faster then it would be faster to load applications from the SD card "improving" performance. Your lack of knowledge on these subjects is astounding.
As for a more detailed explanation of the relative speeds of eMMC memory versus SD cards...
eMMC Speed Overview
Embedded Multi-Media Cards (eMMCs) are a type of flash storage used in various devices. Their speed can vary based on the version and specifications.
eMMC Speed Specifications
eMMC VersionSequential Read SpeedSequential Write SpeedTypical Capacity RangeeMMC 5.0Up to 250 MB/sUp to 125 MB/s4 GB to 128 GBeMMC 5.1Up to 400 MB/sUp to 200 MB/s4 GB to 512 GB
Performance Insights
- Speed Comparison: eMMC 5.1 offers the highest speeds, reaching up to 400 MB/s for reading and 200 MB/s for writing.
- Real-World Performance: Actual speeds can vary based on the device and implementation. For example, some tests show read speeds between 20-25 MB/s for older eMMC versions, while newer models can achieve significantly higher speeds.
Use CaseseMMCs are often used in budget devices due to their lower cost compared to SSDs. They are suitable for applications where high speed is less critical, such as in smartphones and tablets. However, for high-performance needs, SSDs are generally preferred due to their superior speed and capacity.

SD cards are categorized by speed classes, which indicate their minimum sustained write speeds:
- Speed Class: C10 (10 MB/s minimum)
- UHS Speed Class: U1 (10 MB/s minimum), U3 (30 MB/s minimum)
- Video Speed Class: V30 (30 MB/s minimum), V60 (60 MB/s minimum), V90 (90 MB/s minimum)
Importance of SpeedFaster SD cards are essential for tasks like recording 4K or 8K video, where high write speeds prevent dropped frames. They also benefit burst shooting in photography, ensuring that images are saved quickly.
When selecting an SD card, consider both the speed class and the specific requirements of your device to ensure optimal performance.
For reference V90 is 300mb/s read speed making it faster than all but the highest end of eMMC speeds. So unless you have a device using the latest eMMC 5.0 or 5.1 memory speeds it won't be any faster. However, the vast majority of devices don't use eMMC memory that fast. Getting the fastest SD card memory isn't that hard to do and in many cases will exceed the speeds of the eMMC memory soldered into most devices. Again this speed only matters when loading files into memory to start the application initially. Those speeds have zero bearing on performance of a device or applications running once they are running.

What are you trying to fight... SCIENCE? There was a reason why this was stopped.
Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and later stopped allowing the ability to install apps directly onto an SD card by default... that was TEN YEARS ago.
Good luck with saying science is wrong.

Also WTF are you talking about Android 6 ended the ability to flash SD cards are internal storage? Are you mental? You literally are reading things backwards. Android 6 introduced the whole ability to do it. It has been part of the OS since 6 up to 16. Manufacturers are the ones that restrict it as the OS by DEFAULT allows it you dolt. Man I can't even with how stupid you are. Screen shot to prove it. Wow. Literally how much of a self own can a person do to themselves?

The yoga tab plus also went back down to $480.
One plus tab 3 is at $530 after current discounts and misc no return trade in. Still on the fence (yoga tab plus vs pad 3). Key selling point of the yoga is the 16gb of ram. This assures some level of longevity when code consumes even more ram in the future. Pad 3 is effectively $80 more. Also, not sure how I feel about OP's support. I can't even find the device firmware from official sources.
