Adobe's claim of 100 GB of cloud storage is totally fraudulent. It used to be for any of your files, and now it's only for templates, fonts, etc. that can never use so much space.

While I can't comment on the particular code, I can say in the past no redemption code for Adobe has been stackable and has run as a second concurrent subscription. I've held a redemption code for about 6 months and had no issues redeeming.

I'm in kind of a weird state where I feel like I could be very satisfied with the photo editing capabilities of lots of different software, but I need to figure out how to get my whole catalog of raw photos migrated to another system.

I don't heavily use cataloging software but
- ON1 Photo RAW ($50), some experience bugs while others get lucky
- RAWTherapee (Free)
- Capture One Pro (rated closest alternative unfortunately $299 for lifetime license, $17/mo otherwise)
- Darktable (Free) high quality filters but awful UI

When I check out, the $40 coupon applied, but right at the place order page it said coupon applied but total amount still $389? Does anyone run into the same thing?

Forgot to mention, I use paypal checkout.

Went through PayPal checkout myself. After completing PayPal it took me back to B&H where it again reflected the coupon. You're good.
