The LADPED LP60 looks like a lightweight, basic entry scooter that is best for kids, short neighborhood rides, and first time riders. It is described as very light, similar in design to the old M365 and Lime scooters, and capable of around 18 mph in real use. The main tradeoffs are a tiny battery, no shock absorbers, and weak hill performance, especially for heavier riders. Battery safety and tire replacement costs are also raised as practical concerns. A simple starter scooter if the range and power limits fit your use.

Common Questions (5)

  • It works well for kids and lighter riders, but adults often want a 500W-or-bigger scooter for better acceleration and hill climbing. At around 220-240 lb, it can handle neighborhood riding but may slow to a stop on steeper hills.

  • It has no shock absorbers, so the ride is basic rather than cushioned. Air tires on larger alternatives were specifically called out as improving ride quality.

  • Battery fire risk was raised as a concern, especially at this price point and with unknown QC. A cautious storage practice mentioned is keeping the battery in a fire pit or similarly contained area when not in use.

  • It can reach about 18 mph in use, which is close to the listed 19 mph top speed. That makes it fast enough for short commutes and kid use without feeling like a toy.

  • Tire replacements are expected often enough that a warranty covering them was recommended. That matters because wear parts can become the main ongoing cost on a budget scooter.

Who AliExpress? I bought an LP80 from AliExpress and it arrived just fine. But I also bought a electric bike on there and it never arrived and they refunded my money. It's hit and miss. But the LP80 is just the longer range version of the LP60. If you're looking for a first timer electric scooter it works great! My daughter just rode ours home from the high school and I watched her on Life360 going 18mph down the road. It's faster for her to ride that home than me firing up the truck and driving up there and driving back. Kids are spoiled these days, back in the 90's it was all about mountain bikes or skateboards. Now these electric scooters or electric bikes are so fast it's like having a car.
Question... where does she put the scooter for the day in highschool?

These are the same design as the old M365 scooter. Solid scooter design we rode these scooters hard in my family and some of us including me are upwards of 275 pounds. Great for kids but honestly if your an adult you are going to want a 500w or bigger to scratch that itch properly.

looks good for the price. but I"m dead scared of the battery getting on fire while charging. at this price. I can imagine the quality of the battery and the QC on the build.
yes, that is a concern in my mind also.
I've heard people store the battery when not in use in something like a fire pit so it something happens the fire is contained.

I recommend having a warranty with your scooter that covers the inevitable tire replacements

Price jumped twice while I was trying to pay
Edit: turned out there was a glitch on the payment screen each time I tried to pay and the original price one was still there on a "to pay" screen, along with 2 higher price orders. Bought the first, released the other two.

I weigh 220 (same as you and your kids combined weight) and I've ridden my kids LP80 all around the neighborhood no problem. It's not great on hills (will come to a stop on steeper ones) at that weight, but you can always kick with your leg. I went for the more powerful and larger Aovopro ESMAX which will get you around much more capably with that combined weight.
How much is the Aovopro ESMAX? Do you have a link?

There's been a couple of deals on it recently, search slickdeals. I paid around $220 but it's been cheaper. Basically 2x the cost of the LP60 but more robust, bigger, more powerful, and so much smoother with air tires and basic suspension.

My company don't allow electric scooters in the building. Must be for this very reason.

Sorry to res an old thread. Anybody get this and figure out how to remove the battery? I pulled the bottom cover off and found it, but was nervous I would rupture the battery with a putty knife or removing the foot tread to look for screw heads.
