This is an LED panel, QLED are much better.
The cheapest QLED TV available at BestBuy is $280. You can probably find something cheaper elsewhere but I don't think people care that much when they're getting a 43 "4K smart TV for $150 cheaper. A lot of people are fine with the quality of LED, whether they use it as their main TV or they buy it for their kitchen or something.

Sam's Club has a Vizio QLED 40" panel for $128 on Black Friday.

Cheapest 4:4:4 chroma enabled 60hz 4K monitor. Better than the meme ultrawide monitors for far less money.

Several concerning reviews on Best Buy showing screen defects after a few months of use. My use case is purely as a work from home productivity monitor, and I saw a few reviews that spoke positively about this TV as a monitor. Taking a chance on it. I may purchase the 5-year extended warranty coverage for $30 sometime in the next 60 days.

Cheap 4:4:4 RGB on IPS panel at this price is great. Have you used this particular model?

I got the LG 43" UA77 TV that was on sale. It does 4:4:4 chroma RGB pixel order like the rtings.com says and definitely feels like an IPS. The display works perfectly for computer use (maybe not color sensitive stuff though). It has the same ratings as this Toshiba, and the Toshiba is supposedly brighter (?).

Have you tested this toshiba as a monitor? The UA77 w/ macOS doesn't stay in the correct mode (not sure if it's the TV or the m-silicon mac) between sleep/wake or power cycling. I think it is the mac sending YCbCr instead of RGB, but you can only reset that from the LG settings by toggling 4:4:4 pass through. And that is a pain w/ LG's interface (doesn't always work). But if this Toshiba doesn't have that issue, it sounds promising.

You can definitely tell the LG 43UA77 is ~80% DCI-P3 and not the 96% you can get on a 27" 4k for $250. But pretty much any 4k ~40" IPS panel is $800+ as a monitor. (And there's dead pixels. Also probably both lack DDC since they're TVs.)

This was why I went with the LG 43UA77. Please leave a review of your impressions. It's hard to find much information about using these 43" IPS TVs as computer monitors. Between reliability, compatibility, ease of use and panel quality, it's hard to tell how they measure up to IPS computer monitors.

Looks like the same price is also available from Amazon, though I'd suggest just picking it up from your local BB if you're able, plenty of reviews saying theirs got damaged during shipping. https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-43...5VYD5?th=1

I would ask AI to compare the models (the Vizio from Sam's Club and your plasma). They also have a Vizio 50" QLED which goes on sale for BF at $198 (based on the ad it's possible the other Vizio QLED like 43" etc may have discounts as well).

This is the link for the 40" (sale not live until BF, 11/27-12/1).
