I'd hold off on any gaming miniPC purchase until the Steam machine gets a price.

Rumor has it that the base model will be $500-$600.

I have not seen any mention of the price, but IIRC Valve itself said it will "not be priced like a console"

This one really checks all the box's for me, but I can't really come up with a use for it. I have a mid tower PC (Ryzen 5)(RTX3060Ti) on my main tv now along with an Nvidia shield, Switch and a PS5.

Get an egpu dock and you can use your current GPU and this together to save space with the oculink port. I have basically that same setup with the K8.

Probably not worth it if you are fine with your current setup footprint, but I'm just trying to help you justify spending money hahaha.

I really want to like an egpu dock, but once you get that, you might as well get a mini tower.

The specs are overkill for office use. It'll perform great, although could be a little loud when working heavily. I switched over to a mini pc and the fan noise is noticeable when it kicks on frequently.

I bought this computer and then returned it. The Wi-Fi would work intermittently. Sometimes I had to force it to boot up. It seemed like a good choice—small and powerful—but the minor issues annoyed me.

Yeah, that is pretty true. But I have my mini PC mounted under my desk and the GPU on my desk. If I am not going to be gaming or coding for a while I will put my GPU away. It works great for me, but most people might not save them anything.

Depends on the use case. I've been dying to get something like this, get a GPU dock and buy one of those new 32 GB workstation VRAM cards from AMD to run a local model in a compact form

Was it a case of weak signal or other issue? From what I've read the wifi is usually terrible on most of the mini pc's. Need to use wired.
