This is the link i went to: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/...ep1Entered [att.com] IMEI.Here is the error message:You can't unlock your device until your installment plan is paid off. If you pay off your device as part of your monthly bill, wait until the start of your next bill period to unlock it.Want to pay off your device early? Make sure your number has been active on the device for at least 60 days. Then, sign into your account to review and pay off your installment plan. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit a new unlock request.
The unlock portal syncs with the system every day so if you have paid it off recently you will have to wait until the midnight or later.

you will be charge activation on 4th day
Tried two Verizon corporate stores and none would accept payment.
Any risk in canceling the line today and then paying off after 30 days?

How does Walmart know that the phone is activated on Verizon? Asking because I had a hard time setting up verizon with the information I provided when purchasing the phone online at walmart.com. So had to activate the phone using a new account (different from the details provided at the time of online purchae)

Someone today said here that he paid it off by calling Verizon on 611. Give it a try and let us know.

Great to hear this. Did you connect to a human rep or the bot allowed you to pay off?
It was a human rep. I was also able to submit an unlock request. They said it is supposed to be unlocked within 24 hours.

I got to page 25 in the comments and I'm still not 100% sure, could I start a verizon account and then cancel it or do I need to keep at least 1 line open / have an existing account when I sign up. (Im not a verizon customer and just want to do the deal and then cancel)
Sorry to add to the pile of questions
Go with ATT if there are no preferences on network. If you plan is to buy a device and account go for ATT. So much hassle with verizon account closure.

Cancelling the service the hard part in my opinion Frown

Besides using bad signal, what are some other good excuses that you guys use to cancel the lines? I actually have pretty good AT&T coverage in my area.

This is great news. Did the rep ask for IMEI for the unlock request? Please keep us posted if its unlocked tomorrow.

If you asking about whether gift card will come or not, I think that does not have anything to do with Verizon but only the purchase is being completed without any problem. I could be wrong though but keep us posted about if you don't get your GC
