Thanks, bought one for sleep tracking, my ultra is too uncomfortable to wear while sleeping. Got cellular since think might just return the ultra
This and the ultra is too large/heavy on the wrist so its surface area exposed to the wrist is less consistant than a smaller watch like the S10, which yields worse quality sleep tracking. Quantified Scientist has videos showing the tracking is worse on Ultras, but doesn't explain the reason.

I actually workout with my 7 Apple Watch 5-6x a week and the battery doesn't last a full day anymore.

I'd prefer to be able to trade mine in for a discount just to get better battery life. These things pretty much have done the same thing for many generations.

5G is not essential for smart-watches, I am sure that LTE/4G is actually sufficient
The US carriers are now removing the 4G/LTE infrastructure they have and LTE devices will simply not be able to data connect in a year. Hence the sale on all pre-11 AppleWatches/w cellular

AI answer below, should be usable till next watch upgrade.
  • T‑Mobile is expected to begin phasing out LTE as early as 2026.
  • By 2028, most of its LTE network will be converted to 5G; only a very narrow LTE channel (about 5 MHz) may remain.
  • According to reports, T‑Mobile plans to keep that minimal LTE support (mainly for legacy / IoT devices) until 2035.
So, T-Mobile isn't stopping LTE immediately, but its LTE capacity will be significantly reduced over the next few years.

Purchased, shipping was free total with taxes was $263 in VA.

But when it was delivered I didn't notice that the tape was tampered with and the watch, band and charger were all missing but the watch packaging was left in the box (ripped). I placed a claim with Walmart and waiting to hear back.

Question for the greater group, the imei number is on the packaging and such, should this be reported to Apple? Other thoughts? Guess I'm lucky that this is the first time any of my packages have been messed with.

T-Mobile is phasing out LTE for 5G and will not activate new LTE devices after January 1, 2026.
