I owned the instant version of this tent and about this time last year purchased this non-instant version. It packs smaller, which is a huge plus if you're tight on space when packing for a camping trip. It's still pretty dang easy to set up, even if it's not "instant." Six poles are used: 4 thicc bois go up the sides, 2 criss-cross on top. I'm really happy with this tent for me, my wife, and my dog with a large queen size inflatable mattress. Plenty of room for all of us and our stuff when we're car camping. I'm kinda mad I spent as much as I did seeing this price, though.

I had this tent for several years we used it as our tent for several outings, it ended up being the one we loaned out to people who would go camping with us, or as a kids tent toward the end but held up nearly perfect.

It did rain several times with the tent it held up fine and minimal to no water got in, the rainfly extends over the windows and has tie offs iirc to pull it out further, if it were a hurricane and blowing sideways nearly maybe an issue but not in heavy downpour or soaking type rains ww experienced. ( I do use waterproof spray on rainfly and use sealer on the seams prior to using a tent and yearly after that )

Actually ended up giving to a homeless person that was living out of their car/state park.. I sort of find tents after 20-30 or so uses to be disposable personally going in and out of the bag and just getting hit with weather is rough on them.

I'm pretty sure it's instant. Note the exterior poles.

Kinda looks like a hybrid of sorts. Those elbows look fixed.

Is it just my impression, or is it not rainproof?

How long does it take to set up?

I have this tent and it takes about 2 minutes to completely set it up. It folds out and is almost an instant tent. There is a rain cover that goes over the top and has hooks that mount to the 4 corners.Afterwards there are tent stakes to keep it from moving. It would be an instant tent without the stakes and rain guard.

Are you sure? I see two on Walmart and one is labeled instant and this one is not. I think this one you need to insert the poles

That's junk. Just take the effort to setup this tent up which looks super easy to me anyway.

It has a rain fly, but not a full coverage one. This is best for car camping. Should hold up to most elements just fine.

It is not an instant tent, but pretty easy to set up imo.

This is the instant version: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-...s/53734745

I've had the instant one for a few years, used 8 nights on a cross country road trip and 1-2 nights per year for a few years after that. Where the poles met in the middle and press into the floor of the tent when folded up has begun to perforate. This one probably wouldn't have that issue with the poles being bundled separately.
