I got this bundle like 4 years ago and it's still running perfectly. I upgraded to a cartridge filter after a few months. Cord is short, but i'm used to using extension cords around the garage anyway

I bought this on a similar deal a couple years ago and have loved it. Used it for many things, including a simple dust collection system in my shop and it worked great. I've also abused it since it has the metal body and it has taken a decent beating over the years, but you'd never know from looking at it.

Why is every positive reply getting down voted. What a bizarre site these days.

See this today as I was getting ready to purchase a Craftsman 9 Gallon at Ace Hardware that is $20 off for $59. I wonder how they compare.
I'll be using this in my workshop for dust collection mainly... Anyone have any thoughts?

Maybe there's a 2025 update from last year. Otherwise, this is nice-looking but doesn't function in a basic way - the filter blows smaller particles out. I've found it to be useless for most things that aren't larger chunks to avoid a dust cloud. The filter was installed right - I wanted this to work and not just complain. I was very disappointed because of that. It also doesn't store as neatly as a Shop-Vac.

Does this not have a round paper pleated filter like a shop vac has?

I feel like that is standard for any shopvac filter. You need to get one that is HEPA rated (usually green in color) or the blue ones that filter better. Better yet, use a bag.

Does anyone have the model? Has Hart resolved the canister not sealing well? I think that hurt the older model in the Project Farm tests. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSN7PXwn1yU

Bought this model a year ago on a SD post and it saved my ass. We got hit with a ton of rain and my sump couldn't keep up, causing it to overheat. I grabbed this from my garage, put the wet filter on, and started vacuuming water up from the sump. The 6 gallon capacity filled in seconds, so it's got great suction. I would turn it off and run to my basement bathroom to dump the contents (home inspector confirmed the toilet doesn't drain into the sump). I did this multiple times over the course of an hour and not once did this vacuum fail me. I honestly thought I was going to burn out the motor, but it held up. After the damage was done, I had left a little water inside for a few days, but it shows ZERO signs of rust.

Highly recommended (also, a good home inspector is worth their weight in gold)!

Have this one and we love it. Paper filter tore (my fault). Any suggestions on where to find a cheap replacement filter?

Agrees, we also have one and it's almost bulletproof. Highly recommended, especially at this price

No - it's a cloth "bag" that's the filter before it goes into the receptacle. That pleated filter IS what I have in my Shop-Vac and it doesn't output dust.

The filter is made out of cloth and not like the hefty one from the Shop-Vac. I didn't do my research when buying not thinking it wouldn't hold really any dust back at all. I found out the hard way.

can this be used as a carpet cleaner? like spraying down a carpet cleaning solution and using this to pick it up with stains? i'd especially want it for my apartment. i have a puppy that loves to crawl under things and "make a mess" and my regular carpet cleaner can't reach.
