you can buy bronze plan - $35 on the last day from walmart.com and select Direct Top Up option and provide phone number.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straig...om=/search

Straight Talk has a "Reserve" system:

you can add a plan to your account before your current service ends. Straight Talk Extras+1
Plans you add to the Reserve are automatically applied on your Service End Date.

What Happens If You "Activate Now" Instead of Reserving

If you choose to not reserve but instead apply the new plan immediately, Straight Talk warns: you will lose any remaining days on your current plan.

Scenario ("$55 plan ends Dec 17, 2025; you want to add a $35 plan early for the second month")

If you add the $35 plan now and put it in Reserve, it will not start immediately. Instead, it will wait and begin on Dec 17, 2025, when your current $55 plan ends.
It won't overlap or "stack" service days unless you choose to activate the plan immediately (which is risky because you'll lose remaining days).

I went to my closest store that is a super center and they have the phones but they do not have a person who activates them so you can't get the deal. I called another store near me and they said the same thing no one is there that can activate it.
anyone else have the same problem? What am I supposed to do to get this deal? It's like they don't actually want to sell them.

What is the $10 plan called? do you have a link to that? I dont see it on ST site. The lowest I see is Bronze 10GB for $35 per month.

I plan to buy the phone at $299 online and just add the cheapest plan for 2 months waiting to unlock. Also, a certain cashback site is giving 14% back so that helps.
$10 plan only through call center. I had $10 plan for my 2nd month of moto razor and it was unlocked after 60 days.

The activation is done by a Straight Talk representative. One person shuttles between different stores. Last time I bought the iPhone SE 3, it was the same story. They had a number pasted in the phone section for the representative. I called that number and the person told me the time he will be at the particular store. Went at that time, got the phone activated.

My receipt shows as ST ESP55 for the $55 plan, and I got the phone discount, but the network on the screen shows TW/ST. Does that matter? After updating to IOS 26.1, it just shows as Verizon now on the cellular page. I realize that ST/TW/TF are owned by Verizon.
That's just the way it works. If you had a physical sim it would show "TF" for ST & TW too.

First, go to ST website and use their store locator to find WMs that MAY offer the deal. Then call those WMs, transfer to the electronics dept and confirm if they offer the deal, if they have it in stock and when one of the phone-activation specialists will be there. If they don't pickup...keep calling...don't waste time driving around.

The experience is not user-friendly.

Depends on where you are. And it has to be a Walmart supercenter. The small stores don't do it. The one I went to is 9 minutes away. There are three supercenters witnin 20 miles of where I live. They all have personel that activate phones.

I got one at the beginning of the year for a little more. It's an alright phone.

Honestly, there's a lot missing so I feel like this really is like a $450 phone max. Getting it for ~$150 off counting the second month I guess is a pretty good deal but it's not amazing or anything.

No dynamic island, no magsafe, no 120hz, no wide angle camera. I'd personally rather see an iPhone 17 deal and pay $2-300 more.

I have several super centers but I don't feel like driving around. Ask Sparky isn't helping either, haha.

The Walmart Supercenter at Walpole, MA had multiple in stock but refused to sell for $199. Even worse, the store manager was outright dismissive, to use a softer word, and refused to even talk to customer care on phone who asked me to let them talk to them. Moreover, they gave me a ridiculous reasons like in store means it's in straight talk store not Walmart store. Or it's falsely advertised etc. Any way this behavior could be reported somewhere?

Probably why resale prices for these are way down (compared to other iphones). Mine is fine for my use (got a mag safe case), but even with the discounted pre release price I paid last Spring I can barely sell it for what I paid - after this deal it's going to be worth even less.

How can they deny an ad that's listed on their own website? It clearly shows that purchase/activation must be done in a WM store. Walmart has done BF deals for iPhones before, this isn't anything new.
There's no reason for treating customers like that.
There's an online form for corporate complaints, I'd use it.

You dont need to login to an apple account to do a test call. The phone can be had with service without an apple account login. Yes, you need an account to use the app store, but the basic functions, no apple account needed.
Funny enough we figured that out later together. Nobody at my local Walmart was hyped about the 16e deal, there weren't any banners, and there was still one left when I was done. We had all the time in the world to find the option to not log in in a submenu after wasting time waiting for the phone to log in and then figuring out how to force a shutdown.
