I bought these a couple years ago. They've held up with the only thing failing in the corners were the fasteners I used. Personally I didn't want to do it again later so I bought more than what comes in the box. I used the plastic fasteners in addition to staples to secure the lights. Just so that they're nice and tight against the surface and not loose anywhere. The corners are susceptible because you have to twist them slightly so they can turn which must be putting extra pressure. But this isn't an issue with the lights themselves. I did have a strand that wouldn't work out of the box but I just reached out to customer service with a video showing me plug them in and not lighting up. They sent me a new strand no problem. Personally I recommend setting these up 5 inches away from the wall of the house. I highly recommend connecting all the strands before you install them to test them like I did. It'd really suck to install them then find out you have an issue after the fact.

1) how do these compare to the recent deals from Costco?
2) Are these meant for holiday lights like xmas, halloween, etc...?
3) I have a 3 story tudor house with steep sloped roofs, similar to the one pictured but the roofs are even steeper and i don't feel comfortable getting up there or climbing a ladder to install these. Any affordable way to get these installed via DIY? Someone will probably charge me $300+ to install these (i'm assuming given i'm being quoted $500+ to clean out my gutters, most of which have gutter guards, lol)

I have this question too. How much does installation cost in Northeast US? Is it safe to find someone on Angi or Thumbtack or do we need professionals for this?
Installation cost is going to vary a lot depending on a lot of factors like how many stories your house is, how many jumps and splices have to be made and how good you want the finished product to look. I would guess if you're paying <$500 for an install you have a one story, don't mind the exposed wires (vs likes track system install), and probably aren't relying on anything but the adhesive itself to adhere to the surface of the soffit or rafters. Most people are going to ultimately be unhappy with this install as the adhesive can come undone and require you to get back on a ladder to reaffix them. If you have a multilevel house I would recommend either getting the pro lights (top tier in this class) or their new prism lights. The pro lights are able to be cut and spliced without voiding the warranty and also have a dedicated warm white LED to use to illuminate your house outside of the holidays if you choose to. Realistically a nicely done install like this on a large multistory house is going to cost $1000+ including all lights (100 ft is probably not enough), track, labor, etc.
they are permanent until LEDs start to fail and there is no way to replace them. In my opinion they look too cheesy for most houses too.If you want quality bulbs buy opticore c9 bulb and cable strings. Something that can not be replaced down the road is a no go for my Christmas decorations especially a permanent placement.

Also curious how much work it is to install these given I have no ladder that can reach my upper floors.
