This seems to be an every year thing as of recent. Got them last year for same price. Was agitated that they were higher than 24 but well...

Pretty good price. I bought 2 for a project, then left them in the garage for storage, the wheels really make convenient moving. Beware it comes in a big box, and weighs 125lbs, recommend 2 people to load/unload.

Any gift card deals to make this a little sweeter? And, any idea on how long these "Special Buys" last?

I watched the video... OMG I want one with all the bells and whistles... But I have no use for it.

I did see a smaller 4-ft version for $100 that looks very interesting and would accommodate the majority of my inside the house projects.

No need for now, but will get @ $153 on BF if available. I've heard it takes two persons to assemble.

It's sure easier and quicker to have 2 people to assemble it, but I have put mine together many times by my self. I usually use a 2 stack of them and use outriggers and guard rails, and sometimes leveling jacks.

Thanks for the input! I think for light use, I'll be better off with two ladders and a 6' platform, which can be easily set up by 1 person.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank Deal-R-Dash

I have the HF version of this without the trap door along with the stabilizer wheels. I assembled it my self without any problem. It does take up quite a bit of room (especially with the extra wheels) if you don't have a large garage. That said, I love it as it not only makes ceiling access easy for projects like installing attic stairs, ceiling fans, and ceiling racks but also use it as a rolling workbench. I will say that even with the stabilizer wheels I was not comfortable with how flimsy it was as just a single scaffold. The trap door feature on this is nice as climbing the outside ladder as a flimsy scaffold felt pretty scary. I fixed this by getting a second scaffold set and adding the second platform to the go-to scaffold. This gave me the flexibility to go to 2 stories if needed while also adding a lot of stability by dropping the first platform to the lowest setting as a workbench and using the second as the standing area. Just sharing my two cents...

Here's video of one lady setting up 2.5 layers of the scaffold by herself:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvuWdm-dUN0
Though I think the platform included in this set is a bit heavier than the one in the video and the outrigger is a different style that can be attached perpendicularly.

Another method for solo assembly is to set it up sideways by laying the cross brace on the floor and then attach each side then tilting the assembly up (the 2nd cross brace can be added while on its sideways or after it's upright). Once upright, the platform can be attached. The platform is fairly heavy and can fall down during setup so care is required. (It might be easier to set the platform at a lower height and then lifting up each side separately.)
The guard rails ($234) are often more expensive than the scaffold (when on sale) so if you don't mind the extra weight and have storage space, a 2nd set of scaffolds can be used as a guard rail. I use the scaffolds as shelf space in the garage when not in use. Also, using ratchet straps can make the assembly less wobbly.

Seems like the sale price has been steadily creeping up (150 a few years ago, 180 last year, 200 this year)...

Got three "Keller" (Werner's brand for Menards) on Black Friday back in 2020 @ $109 each, one of my best purchases, they're useful and storage isn't bad when disassembled

no trap door on mine though

bought the outriggers and guardrails eventually. definitely recommend the outriggers if stacking 2. see attached pic

I've been using two of these for over a year to make my queen-size KDframes bed into a loft bed. One across at the head of the bed, and the other at the foot.

They can get a bit squeaky on the joints, but usually pushing out or pulling in on the top of the vertical support relieves the tension and moderates the noisy-ness.
With some PVC piping to form some railings, and a board across so I don't have a gap on the side of the bed.

I bought these when they were $180. I've got two of them stacked rn in my home. Great for painting tall ceilings or installing recessed lights. In any case, you're going to want the wider stance legs if stacking two of them. And the safety rail makes it easier to stand on top without freaking out.

he's close, they've go down to 159$ in the past... haven't seen that since 2023 though, they only dropped to 179$ last year from what i remember and now with the cost of everything still increasing, looks like 199$ this year.

on the product, these things are great at 159$, at 199$ I would pause... they're very useful, i own 4 of them, use them for things like elevated animal feed storage (holds ~600lbs of feed with ease) over my wood cart in the garage and stacking my tractor implements in the detached garage (nothing like being able to roll your stacked grapple and plow around when you don't need them.)
