Add 4-5 drops of water on the suction mount side and spread it before applying to the glass.

It does fall but it sort of lasts for 1-2 months even in high heat.

I actually prefer suction cups. I bought one with the glue mount and the heat would melt the bond. It wouldn't stay up. At least with the suction cup I just simply remount it.
Thanks OP

I had one of these for over a year. My truck started refusing to crank very intermittently. I started online searches and found similar issues. Spent a lot of money replacing things, Took it to 4 different places including 2 dealers and they could not figure out the issue. Finally, I realized it was this camera casing my problems. Still kicking myself today for not realizing that sooner.

What did you replace the mount with? Having similar problems with the mount falling off in the summer. Thanks in advance!

Was your car not driven often? None of these cameras should kill a battery if you drive your car every day for 10+ miles.
Or wire it to only on when key on.

Nope. It'll still fall, it's just a poorly designed suction cup. I also bought the GPS suction mount for this model and had the same problem with the replacement mount. I ended up reaching out to Vantrue support and they sent me another GPS mount that uses double sided sticky tape and that hasn't fallen in over a year.

I have this camera and it's pretty trash, the date always resets back to 2018 for some weird reason, the mount also always falls off and now i think the battery is bad as it doesn't even turn on anymore even thou its hardwired. I have to manually turn it on then it turns back off after 10 seconds even though it shows it's charging when it's turned on.

I purchased a 3-way version of the Vantrue Dashcam, but I only used it for three years because the front viewing camera sensor failed, resulting in a completely black recording. It was an over $200 investment back in the day, which I thought would be a long-term investment; however, it lasted for a short time compared to the price I paid for it.
