New lowest price, been waiting on it to hit the $599 price. Bit the bullet on this one for camping for next year.

Anyone with experience hooking up some non-Jackery solar panels?

I know you need an adaptor (right?) but was looking for some recommendations on panels that are cheaper/better...

About to test one out. I got a $80, 200W IP68 monocrystaline noname panel from Ali and will compare to my Solarsaga 200 into this. Waiting for a sunny day.... Weather is cloudy for the next 2 weeks though. I am trying to decide whether to return this or buy another one, depending on the results.

Here is a first impression, unscientific test. The day was cloudy so with the Solar Saga 200, the input varied from 40W to 175W depending in the cloud movement. I tried to wait to at least 150W input and rapidly switched the input wires from one panel to another. They were both set up about the same so that would minimize setup differences. But since the clouds were moving quickly, it was challenging to get the same input to compare.

The cheaper one was clearly smaller about 20% shorter in width and 10% shorter in height and was not built to the same high standards as the Solar saga. My solar saga was version "C", which has 2 legs. The latest is version E which has 3 legs and rated at 225W.

I did not see an appreciable output difference between the 2 panels, maybe 5-10% less on the cheaper panel, but my unscientific comparison is probably only precise to 10% given the solar variability. Given the cheaper panel was 1/3 the cost of the Jackery, thats pretty decent. I would get the Jackery Solar saga 200 on sale if you only wanted to carry 1 panel and wanted to make sure it worked. The other cheaper panel if you wanted a spare or wanted to add another panel for faster charging. I dont yet have the adapter (7090 to 8040) to plug them both in. I may get another cheap panel.

I will add the details of the cheaper panel in a separate post in case SD pulls it,

Here are the details of the cheap panel

Purchased on Ali
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...pt=glo2usa

Price varies quite a bit, but right now it is $110. There are coupons that in my case, reduced it $18. (US1811) You need to search. These coupons change all the time. Then right now there is a rebate from a site that SD will not allow me to post. It is varying from 18% to 20% back. The panel is no name, I tried to find out if it is made by Chuban, and they wont answer the question directly. If you want a Chuban, the Chuban store charges more. It arrived in 2 days, shipped UPS from Southern California in a unmarked box with zero documentation, zero labels, cable and adapters. But no adapter to 8020. Just one adapter to 7090. Hope this helps. I will probably keep mine as a second one to charge faster. I will note that is is rather flimsy and I doubt it will hold up to winds, so it isnt clear it will work at the beach whereas the Solar Saga should.

cannot believe how cheap these are now. They really must have overproduction of solar cells and are dumping them.

You need a DC8020 plug going into the Jackery. If the panel doesn't have 8020 out, you will need an adapter.

Seller is garbage. Look up the reviews; they don't have anything on hand and take forever to ship if they ship at all.

Insane price. I had this one and preferred it to the 1000 but this one is heavy for sure. Still the lightest 2000 on te market
