Yes. I just bought a $10 Google play gift card and instantly got an email about PayPal rewards.

I had the offer, added it, and re-linked my PayPal account on Google Play, and purchased a $15 Doordash GC. Now the offer in PayPal shows it is Expired. I probably had purchased something with PayPal before on Google Play. But feels like I got bated since it showed the offer for me initially...

Normal. (That's how it appeared after the last offer was used, too.) You should get the $10.

Works on in-app purchases through PayPal as well. Bought an item for Star Trek Fleet Command and got the rewards points.

I think the context is "first purchase above $5"? My PayPal was linked prior yet I still got the rewards, I have made smaller purchases before. It could also be Google forgetting to remove that bit.

Be aware that as of a month ago you can now purchase gift cards on Google Play and in fact there is a place on the Google Play drop downmenu that says "gift cards" and if you click on that you are taken to a page where you can buy a ton of different gift cards right off Google Play.
So I wonder if this promotion will work if you buy a $5 or more denomination gift card off Google Play using your linked PayPal?
Anyone want to try this and be a guinea pig? If it doesn't work you don't really have much to lose because you still get the gift card.
