Even lower regular price on temu for the same item ($3 shipping already included). Do a search for "obd2 scanner diagnostic tool" then sort by price.

A Car Code Reader saved the day for me earlier this year. The lesson is: don't factory reset your car when you have a smog check in weeks.

I was selling our old car and already confirmed the buyer. The last step before transaction is a simple smog check (in CA), simple, right? I factory reseted the car's settings to disconnect all the phones. Big mistake! It also reset all the smog test readings and failed me on the smog check with some sensors in INC (incomplete state). Luckily I had an OBD scanner, but it still took me 300 miles+ in 2 days to get the pass (still one sensor was in INC). Check the crazy driving cycle below, especially "cruise on 60mph and slow down to 30mph WITHOUT breaking" (try to find a road where you can do that):

- Driving cycle: start cold engine (sleep for 8 hours+), idle for 2.5min, drive 20-30mph for 4 min, drive 40-60mph for 15 min, stop in Drive for 4 min
- Need to repeat more than once (with 8-hours sleep in between), never over 3000rpm
- For EGR sensor: smooth accelerate from 30mph to 60mph, let it cruise and slow down to under 30mph (NO BRAKE, can downshift).
- "Fuel System Monitor" stuck in INC (Incomplete), which is fine. The computer will decide if it passes (depends on car model).

Sounds like another good reason to not live in CA!

The issue with the bluetooth dongles is that they won't connect sometimes or take forever to connect.
you have to get a decent one, cheap ones tend to have connection issues.

sounds like your car was not so old, as there is no such thing as reset button on pre-2015 cars
