Reading the Ubiquiti forums, seems like people are having a lot of trouble with these...

I have a netgear sxk80 which is great but I keep thinking maybe I should switch to a better single router vs a satellite system. Is this an upgrade c

What are the concerns? Having used a UCG/UDM + AC-pros, U6pro and LR APs, my overall experience has been really solid.

I can't speak to this device specifically, but I had had a couple different Ubiquiti acceas points over a number of years. Currently a u6 Lite that covers my whole house, and they have been rock aolid. Never have to do anything with them.My fortigate firewall is now too old and the subscriptions are too expensive so I'm hoping this acts as a decent firewall and boosts signal strenth a bit in my houses farther reaches as the SF rating is +500 feet over the u6 lite. Unfortunately just got mine in the mail for full price but $30 I can live with.

I used to work with Fortigate and had an OG Unifi Dream Machine. While I could not make serious policies like the FGT, I could geoblock countries, have different vlans, and inspect traffic with their IDS/IPS.Was pretty happy until it dies after 3 years, went UI again but got the cheapest all in one gateway with AP and it almost covers my house, but otherwise happy despite the lack of IPS inspection.

Yeah I was very torn between this one and the cheaper $200 all in one, but this one has an extra 2 LAN ports, and an sfp+ port if I get fiber down the road. I just happen to need exactly 3 LAN ports where this is located.

I have the Dream Router 6 since launch, recently it started crashing randomly, running 2 APs, 2 Camera's and 512GB Micro SD card. I turned off the Wi-Fi radios on it and it's been running without issues for over a month.

With Ubiquiti, you really have to see how old the post is. If it's more than 6 months, it's likely out of date, even more so if posts are from when the product launched.

Matches what Microcenter are currently selling them for if you happen to be close enough to a store (not available for shipping from MC).
