I have a similar one at my home bar, it does make ice very fast but the cubes are like cylinders so a lot of surface area and they melt fast.

Fine for small cocktails but for bigger drinks like a soda you need a lot and they melt fast and water it down.

To do it again I'd get the ones that make actual cubes, takes longer per batch but would be better.

I would suggest getting the protection plans for these. Sometimes the freezer post starts flaking off. I have a different model. Its kind of difficult to clean the tray where the ice is made and the back areas on top. I clean it every 3 weeks or so by running it vinegar and water for a few hours.

Agreed for a home bar. It depends on the cocktails you tend to serve, but my personal preference is a three fold approach.

First, for an ice machine, go with one of the nugget ice makers for drinks that benefit from more of an edible/slushy quality. You can use it apart from your bar too. I recommend buying ice machines from Costco, Sam's or similar for their guarantee as these small appliances do break.

Second, get ice molds for larger spheres or cubes for rocks cocktails that you really want to minimize the ice surface area. If you want to get fancy you can even get a mold or ice machine that makes clear large orbs.

Finally, for middle of the road where you don't want a single cube but also don't want the ice to melt quickly, ice trays like your grandparents used work just fine too. You can make several batches ahead of time to bag and store in the freezer so you have enough for a crowd.

Only thing I dislike about these ice makers is that it takes 20-30 minutes just to make 1 cup of ice. I'm better off buying bagged ice.

I literally do all three, have a machine, have several ice molds that make HUGE cubes and then can get ice from my traditional ice maker in the kitchen or my other fridge I do have those typical "grandma" trays lol.
