The Meta Quest 3S is being treated as a budget VR headset that feels close to a Quest 2 with a Quest 3 chip, and the Amazon bundle adds a $50 credit and a Gorilla Tag bonus. The main appeal is getting into VR at a lower price, especially for first time users. The biggest drawback is the lenses, which are described as noticeably worse than Quest 3 and harder to adjust. The Amazon credit also has a shipped and sold by Amazon restriction, and promo credits can be unreliable. A solid entry point if the bundle terms work for you.
New VR players who want a standalone headset for short sessions, because it is still pretty good when you are new to VR.
Shoppers who want a lower-cost headset with a newer processor, because it is basically like a Quest 2 with Quest 3 CPU.
People deciding between buying now or waiting for a better price, because locking in the price while you decide can be useful.
Buyers who want a bundled game included, because this listing also includes a Gorilla Tag bundle.
Players who are sensitive to lens clarity, because the lenses are noticeably worse than Quest 3 and harder to adjust.
People who want long VR sessions, because VR still causes nausea and shaky frame rates make extended play uncomfortable.
Shoppers expecting the included Amazon credit to be easy to use, because it must be shipped and sold by Amazon.
Buyers who need a reliable promotional credit, because these credits can fail to arrive and require customer service follow-up.

Hey Zuck, I'd buy this in a second if it could natively play Alyx, how else are you going to get the money to pay your Prima Donna AI hire

We are going to return it and get a refurb 3 from Meta on eBay when they have a promo code again.

Still significantly more than a $200 3S but I had paid $300 for our 3S. I returned it last night. If you are new to VR, the 3S is still pretty good but once you're used to the lenses in the 3, it's hard to go back.
