Ok..then you can save a lot of $$$ you dont need crazy expensive speakers. I am running high end everything in my system an for the 4 atmos speakers (yes , you should do four and space them properly or you will NOT get the correct atmos overhead effect)
here is what I am using and they are outstanding for such a low $$$. you need nothing more then these for atmos surround and your receiver will calibrate all speakers..
for the money these are excellent and only go with the 8" don't do 6". I am using these right now for my atmos for 2+ years and there excellent no reason to break the bank for the overheads and they are more then capable anyways..

I'm finishing my basement and I'm looking to build a 7.1.4 or 7.2.4 system and in addition to this whole house audio. Can I use 4 of the speakers you referenced for 4 channels of atmos and buy 8 more to use for the whole house audio? Or would you recommend something cheaper for the whole house?
For the receiver planning to use 9x Denon or Yamaha and connect an existing Yamaha 5x to the out for the remaining channels. Does it sound good?
Thanks for your help!
Yes agree, call the small AV stores they will do better on a 3800.

Proper positioning is vital also.
The only reason to go with the 6800 is if you needed 13 channel processing/3 pairs of "Atmos" placements.
If so here is the optimal layout to follow IME.

This would include DLBC performance, you'll have to pay for that with Pioneer,Onkyo, Integra(if it offers it).
You don't have to buy a new receiver either!
