Garmin's fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar is being framed as a strong outdoor watch now that pricing has dropped into a more reasonable range. The MIP display gets praise for better outdoor visibility and much better battery life, while the built in flashlight is called a standout feature. The always on screen also avoids the wrist gesture behavior and battery tradeoff tied to OLED watches. The main concern is future support, since this model is described as effectively sunset with fewer new features coming to older Garmin watches. A solid pick if you want the classic Fenix screen and battery advantages.

  • The built-in flashlight feature stands out as a top benefit for smartwatch use.

  • The MIP display can provide better outdoor visibility and stronger battery life.

  • Some buyers consider the current pricing reasonable for the newer Fenix generation.

  • A workaround can help shoppers obtain a unique $20 off $100 code for checkout.

  • Software support for Fenix 7 Pro may be reduced after Garmin moves to a newer common software platform.

  • OLED wrist-gesture lighting can be distracting while driving or using utensils.

  • OLED models may require always-on display to check the time discreetly, which can reduce battery life.

  • Update frequency can be low, with only about two updates reported over a two-month period.

OLED screen is a must. Grab that apex gen 2 pro instead for $70 more with flash light
Many endurance runners disagree with you. I love the MIP display. Visibility is better outside. Battery life is substantially better.

I like it too. I have the forerunner 955 right now and someday I might look at an Enduro for the MIP screen but I have no need to update at the moment. The only upgrade I really want is the built in flashlight but I can live without it.

Yeah I've heard alot of pissed 7pro owners saying they are not getting much software support anymore because all the new watches are on a new common software (Like Fenix 8, FR970, Ect)
I had like 2 updates in the last 2 months

my FR255 is still getting still getting updates

what that poster means is that garmin will not be adding features to older watches like they used to

ever since they moved on to a newer interface/software for the newer watches

here's some clarification:

I suppose there's no way to buy through the app and use a CB site/app? I think apps can also send referrers to other apps.
