But I'll point out that these are weatherproof only when closed. This isn't a While In Use cover where you can have something plugged in and be WP. Those are superior and code required for wet locations. This is ok for like patios and covered areas. But I prefer WIU everywhere.
Finding a nice looking metal one is a bit of a challenge though.

As the above poster stated, this is fine for covered locations. But any outlet exposed to the elements and not under cover, should be used with an in-use type of cover.
The following is an excerpt from the US National Electrical Code (NEC) regarding outdoor receptacles:
"Receptacles in damp locations (under protective covers, such as a porch roof) must be weather-resistant and have a weatherproof (weathertight) cover.
Receptacles in wet locations (exposed to weather) must be weather-resistant and have a weatherproof "in-use" cover. This cover provides sealed weather protection even when cords are plugged into the receptacle.
This outlet cover does not meet this requirement for an exterior wall unless it's under a covered porch/patio.

Company's open themselves up to torts and law suits with this erroneous muck. Should be water resistant.
