This Beelink SER5 Max is a compact Ryzen 7 6800U mini PC that stands out as a strong little workhorse for general use, Plex, BlueIris, emulation, and other home lab tasks. The 24GB soldered LPDDR5 and 500GB PCIe 4.0 SSD are seen as a solid, future proof spec set, and the chip is described as a bit faster than a Steam Deck. Long term reliability gets praise, with reports of rock solid operation in client installs and other Beelink systems. The main cautions are that it is not ideal for gaming, Windows setup and updates can be messy, and one unit kept trying to connect to an MDM on first boot.

  • Home lab builders running Plex or Jellyfin, because it handles media-server workloads well and can stay rock solid in long-term deployments.

  • People wanting a compact general-purpose workhorse, because the 6800U has strong burst speed and enough threads for everyday multitasking.

  • Makers setting up an emulation or arcade box, because it works great with CoinOps X.

  • Security-conscious buyers who plan to reinstall software, because a clean Windows install or Linux can reduce software-level malware risk.

  • Buyers expecting a painless Windows setup, because updates can take hours, reboot repeatedly, and fail before stabilizing.

  • People who need Intel-based Plex transcoding on Linux, because AMD support is secondary and Intel iGPU support gets priority.

  • People who need a machine that stays clear of MDM enrollment, because first boot can still try to connect to an MDM and may indicate a returned unit.

  • Gamers wanting a mini PC for modern titles, because the 6800U is explicitly not ideal for gaming compared with newer AMD or dedicated-GPU options.

These are a lot less ( $111.99 ) at Beelines web site w/ free shipping
You mean Beelink, right? At least get the name right.
And no, they don't sell them any more on their site so you're just fabricating it for some reason.

Why not just share the link? This website is about sharing deals including links not gatekeeping.
Because you can't share something if he's making it up

I think this is 32GB version and it's $50 more

There are no products on the Beelink site for less than $150, but I guess it's possible that you found a deal on an old Intel Celeron model with 4GB of RAM for $111. You do know that the parts inside the computer contribute to the total cost, right? The 24GB of RAM alone would be more than $111.

So either post a link, or stop posting nonsense.

Would this be a good option for a Plex server? Is there a way to stop Windows from constantly restarting itself?
Generally speaking you want Intel based igpu for Plex servers. Although they support amd, it's more of an after thought and Intel gets priority, especially on the Linux side. It should work fine but again, Id go Intel. This is probably overkill but here's an example:

Not sure what you mean about windows restarting itself. You mean for windows updates and such? That should be configurable however the better option to make your Plex server a Windows service so it doesn't need you to login to run:

Does anyone know for sure what seller on Amazon for these BeeLink devices are the legit "real deal" and less likely to be a source for fakes etc.? There are several sellers for apparently the same product. Thx

I had exactly the same question and saw your post just after I made mine.
