This Beelink SER5 Max is a compact Ryzen 7 6800U mini PC that stands out as a strong little workhorse for general use, Plex, BlueIris, emulation, and other home lab tasks. The 24GB soldered LPDDR5 and 500GB PCIe 4.0 SSD are seen as a solid, future proof spec set, and the chip is described as a bit faster than a Steam Deck. Long term reliability gets praise, with reports of rock solid operation in client installs and other Beelink systems. The main cautions are that it is not ideal for gaming, Windows setup and updates can be messy, and one unit kept trying to connect to an MDM on first boot.

  • The mini PC can run BlueIris and handle a three-camera setup for dedicated monitoring.

  • The device category can deliver stable operation over multi-year deployments in client locations.

  • The soldered 24GB RAM configuration can provide strong future-proof headroom for mini PC use.

  • The 6800U can serve as a capable workhorse for general tasks at this mini PC size.

  • The deal price may not be the best available because Beelink's website can show much lower pricing with free shipping.

  • Windows setup can involve long update downloads, repeated reboots, and failed or corrupted updates.

  • Windows updates may require troubleshooting steps to reach newer builds like 25H2 successfully.

  • The device can attempt to connect to an MDM on first boot even after clean Windows installs.

Can this run cs go and wc 3 reforged pretty comfortably? I'm out of the gaming scene for too long. Want to get back to it casually. And my friends also suggested us to play helldiver, not sure if this can handle it or not. Thanks for your reply in advance.

I own this and have been using it for an emulation/arcade set up with CoinOps X. Works great.

Are mini PCs around this spec good enough for 4k video editing?
You are better off with MacMini for that

Ah, funny how the poster of the "cheaper one" suddenly goes silent, eh.
Probably because he realizes he just lost a pile of money to an obvious scam?

One of the more annoying things about this site. "Oh you can find one with better specs for $200 cheaper not a deal." Then no response, or at best a "Guy outside a Dollar Tree sold me it off the back of his truck" type response.

Mike's been a bit of a pain to setup. Downloading updates took HOURS during setup (despite wifi speed being great). Now it's rebooted multiple times after windows updates, now the updates have failed an corrupted. I know it could be a windows thing but I read issues with their drivers and something doesn't seem right. My other two desktops have never had all these issues

EDIT - after a bunch of reboots and windows updates its been stable for a day now.
What seemed to happen is during the windows setup it would have to download the 2H 2024 windows update, but it kept failing. Then once inside windows itself it finally forced the latest 2H 2025 update, and that took OK.
Otherwise so far so good. It's running BlueIris with my three cameras well so far, remote access etc is setup. From a security perspective, I've been considering 'hiding' the device somewhere else apart from my office (couldn't do that with my desktop tower).

i had a similar problem updating to the latest 25h2 update. i tried a few things and what worked was to go to settings > windows update > advanced options > recovery > fix problems using windows update.

Tried a clean Windows install twice, even with a different ISO, but it still tries to connect to an MDM on first boot. This is crazy.

Thanks, yes it actually did that by itself I think. Seemed to realized the 2024 one was breaking and ended up downloading the 2025, which after that was smooth.

If its trying to connect to an MDM you should send it back - it means someone bought it and connected it to a work MDM and then returned it (i.e. its used)

that's exactly what it's looking like.
