To install a fresh OS, put the drive in your computer, put a bootable OS installer on a flash drive and plug it in to your computer. Turn your computer on and follow the prompts.

For an existing OS, you can clone it using software like Macrium Reflect or Diskgenius.

That is true for all 2230 drives. If you have the option to use 2280 drives there is no reason to get this.

These are meant for things like thin laptops(like Microsoft Surfaces), handhelds(like Steam Deck) and mini pcs. I toss my old 2230 drives into small 3.2 USB external enclosures to keep as fast USB drives.
