If you read the product specifications, details, and reviews, you'll see it comes with a battery (and reviewers say a charger too). Given Amazon's reasonable return policy, I'd not hesitate to order assuming all that to be true.

Not completely dead, as you can still find them at Tractor Supply (stores and online).I have several PC 20V tools, and they have all been great tools. The best part is the 20V batteries are interchangeable with B&D 20V Max batteries (after a quick and easy mod). Lots of how-to info on that online.
