1. If you're currently active, it'll just add 12 credits right away, no extension. If you're not active, it'll add 12 months.
2. No, gift cards cannot be used to paid for memberships.
How is $8.83 per movie a deal when the most expensive ticket is $9. We buy gift cards from Costco at 20% off and go when the price is $5.25 which makes the ticket cost $4.20. I was looking for another way to bring the price down.

Does anyone know how long after purchasing the gift membership it can be redeemed? Their FAQ just says after gift redemption period, but don't see anywhere what that period is. I have a yearly membership that ends in January and wanted to buy it now and redeem in January.
So I applied this membership a week after my membership was over. It said I got 12 months of membership on the page but somehow just added 12 credits and then updated the billing date to next month (30 day), so basically didn't do anything. Total BS. Called their CS now and will update. Else I plan to do a charge back on my card. F them
Well where you go and adjust your membership this pops up for upgrading to premium screen add on "Premium Screen Upgrades cannot be added to memberships with an active promo code. Upgrades will be available for your membership after your promotional period ends on 1/8/2027."
I am in the same boat as others. I let mine expire and then added the code. It added all the credits and shows my next billing date as February. When I contacted them, I got this response:
"It appears you redeemed the gift code correctly. The system loads all 12 credits at once but you receive the other benefits such as waived online fees and the 20% discount for an entire year."
I guess I will see whether they actually bill me next month.
Edited: they just emailed me and said there was a billing glitch and sent me a new code to try.

Im just now trying to use my membership after redeeming in early december and seeing the same thing. I have 12 available credits, but no active membership. I have sent CS an email, had anyone else had luck fixing this?
ETA: CS also removed my 12 credits, and then sent me a new code with 12 credits and the annual membership. Everything is solved now, but I'm not sure why cinemark did not proactively fix this for all affected users if they knew it was a issue.
