This is a good price if you don't have this game yet, but I prefer the brightly colored version (I was hoping this was a new version of the game but appears the same as the original, just new colors). My husband and I play blokus frequently when we are camping.. I think these colors would be a nightmare in low-light to try to distinguish between.

Thank you, I had the same concern! I've been wanting to get this to play with my kid.I planned to draw the middle border in to simulate Blokus Duo. Did you do that or just play regular rules with 2 people?

You can get the bright colored ones from Target for around $13 or less with available coupons.

One of our favorite and easy to pick up games for the adults... I assume kiddos would be able to pick it up relatively easy as well.

Yes and no. Our child was able to play easily at 6+, but they had absolutely zero chance to win and just wanted to put the pieces on the board with no regard to what was going on. Then he would be frustrated when he would run out of areas to play, while we still had plenty of room. In the end he would have about half of his pieces left. I would guess it took until he was around 11-12 before he fully grasped having a strategy, but he still struggles a little because of ADHD and impulsivity.
