Thoughts on this vs other popular ones for a 7 year old? This will be her first gaming device. Do these fit little hands well?

it would work great for little kids (and up) to experience retro games from your youth. they will lose interest after a bit but prolly great for road trips both in the car and in hotel rooms maybe...cuz it has HDMI out. The cost is cheap but for most people (like me), the cost is in time and fiddling with it to get the right roms and experience (custom firmwares) onto it. Funny part is that In the end I prolly won't play that much with the actual games...cuz a Switch is capable of a much richer gaming experience with multiple players.

From my experience, the H700 chip in this device is slightly faster than the Rockchip processor based ones. Screen colors are slightly better. Build quality is much nicer with Anbernic. However, for a seven year old they're probably not going to notice the difference and a Batlexp G350 is probably fine ($15 cheaper).

if you prefer a horizontal style better than vertical, Anbernic has what is basically the same as this in horizontal form. It's the rg40xx H. It also has two analog sticks instead of just the one. Best for some ps1 games.

As someone had already mentioned, you'd probably better off getting the BATLEXP G350 for your daughter since it comes in cheaper (if she happens to break it sooner rather than later). The only drawback is it doesn't contain an HDMI port so she can't display it on the big screen while using external controllers so if that's a deal breaker then there are other handhelds like the RG40XX V that contain that feature...

Using the coupon code "US0511" will bring it down to around $29-$30.
If you want to go even cheaper, you can get the R36S handheld which is one I personally own myself that I have let my nephews play w/ and they really enjoyed it so I bought a couple to gift them for Xmas...

Having the G350 - its great. The big appeal to this imo is the 4 inch screen, and Bluetooth (assuming it can be used for audio). Wife does not enjoy the G350 screen size for some of the retro puzzle games that she plays. This should add a bit more visibility. My fear - after seeing this 4 inch screen it will be hard to go back to my 3.5. I like having the dual analogs on the G350. From what I gather the RG40xxv Analog stick is poor. Functional like a D pad out of box. I would not buy this for anything you are expecting to use analog stick for.

I don't own the BATLEXP G350, but I opted out from purchasing one since it doesn't offer an option for display out compared to the R36S. However, from what I can tell, the BATLEXP G350 appears to still be a capable machine all things considered.
