I remember going down the game cartridge aisle in Toys R Us back in 1984 or 1985 after the video game crash and seeing bins and bins of loose cartridges and packaged cartridges stacked in barrels discounted from anywhere from $2.99 to $5 and no more than that. These were cartridges that were $29.99 and $39.99 that you had to ask somebody for or grab a ticket for and get it at a special locked up counter after paying for it just months before this video game crash. I remember grabbing seven or eight different cartridges from these bins for three bucks each and not believing that I was holding them in my hand in the aisle since they were always locked up and could not believe that they were 90% off either. this is when I was like 14 years old back in 1984 / 85.

Cool price, but I think this only takes physical Atari games, which are getting pretty hard to track down these days.

It's cheaper to just buy 'Atari 50 - The Anniversary Celebration' game. I have it on my PC, but it's available for Steam, Xbox, etc. has all the 800, 2600, 5200, 7800 games, as well as Atari's arcade games. It's only $40 or less if you get it from Fitgirl.

Wow, that is surprising. Only takes 2600 and 7800 cartridges. Would have expected it to have all the ROMsets loaded. I'll stick with my game emulator on my raspberry pie that has every console game on it already...

Yeah it looks like Atari sells some games for this console on their website, but they're not very cheap.

Some people are posting on here that it's only $20 for Black Friday.

Great price on a very solid console. Downside is that it is still an emulator, just using the ROM directly from the cartridge. Upside is that it is an excellent emulator with authentic look and controls. It's definitely not for everyone. If you're happy with emulating the 7800 and 2600 on your Raspberry pi or PC, then this isn't for you. It's more for someone who's trying to capture the original authentic experience without finding old hardware and then trying to get a decent output to modern TVs. I have one and like it for what it is.

It would be a cool nostalgia piece if it allowed you to plug in a SD card with Roms and play those also. I highly doubt it.

That controller doesn't look very comfortable to use.

Did you just make this up out of thin air? They practically give these away. I find atari games all the time at used game shops for a buck a piece or on marketplace for little to nothing. 7800 games are a bit more uncommon but there's a plethora of 2600 games on the used market that people give away.

This controller is great and quite comfy. Master system also had something similar, and like master system you can take the stick off and just use it as a joypad.
