A lot of people won't be able to tell the difference at viewing distances for this size of TV. Some people don't pay for 4k Netflix, traditional TV is sometimes still 720p and then you have a large portion of the population with terrible eyesight (older people).

I bought this TV for my daughter. Requires a power cycle for the audio to work half the time. Hoping there's a software fix. But fine TV for a kids room

I honestly think it's crazy that they still make 1080p TVs. Since 4K TVs are so cheap to produce. Honestly I don't see why companies don't make 2K TVs if they want to do some kind of weaker and cheaper model. 1080p is kind of outdated now. Even the Xbox Series S does 1440p.

It would be just fine as a monitor if you don't mind everything being big. I have a similar setup for one PC that gets moved around a work area on a rolling stand. It's just what we need for keeping diagrams up on the screen.

If going this large, go 43" and 4K. I think you'd find 40" pixelated, especially if sitting at a desk near the screen. With 4K it doesn't matter how close you get to the screen, sharp as can be. 43" has been perfect for me. I split the screen and it gives me two perfect windows to work with. Two screens side-by-side is so much easier when using productivity apps, paying bills, surfing the web, watching shows.
