Been wanting to get into pc gaming, would this be a good start? Not too knowledgeable about the internals.
Very, this will play almost anything at 60 fps or close to it, maybe just not at absolutely cranked settings.

This is a very good deal. My concerns (if you want to upgrade), would be be the lack of overclocking and the end of life LGA 1700 socket. The i9 path doesn't get you much more performance, and it's pricey, so this is kind of it. Probably good for a while though. Also, as another commenter asked, I don't think the F processors were much affected by the instability/overheating issue. Why no AMD refurbs?

I'm showing a $10 coupon, bringing it down to $899.99. good deal
Be useful and share the coupon, if it's a personal coupon for your account only then this information is irrelevant for everyone.

Because no one returns AMD, as a matter of fact, when this CPU was release intel still haven't unknowledge this issue, most likely because they thought we won't never notice, anyway, once people find out, a lot of users returns their product, nobody want a little bomb on their motherboard, and most users change to AMD. Why would there be thousands of AMD refurbs when they never fail?

I bought this same gamer last year for under $1K, except it came with an i7-13700F. Decent system, though paid for an RTX 4070 12GB that was woefully unsatisfactory for my use case -- local llm inferencing and light RAG development. Replaced it with an RTX 3090 24GB refurb; lightyears better for inferencing.

I usually stick to business grade dell refurbished. in fact in the last 15 years I have not bought otherwise. my desktop is on every day all day (5am-4pm). I feel like the dell refurbished precisions are meant to be on all the time like this. would these components be able to withstand a lot of uptime as such? (matter of opinion I suppose, or someone with experience)

I've never bought a prebuilt but even I bought this. Been building my own PCs for 20 years and the individual value of these parts is worth well over the asking price. The GPU and CPU alone would be this much, so I am taking a risk and going to try this out. This is a great deal.

I bought iBuypower with 5060 and MSI Z2 with 4070 super and when I put them on my 70 inch 4K TV for gaming like GTA 5, the 5060 struggled while 4070 super handles it just fine. 5060 is good for 30 inch gaming monitor set up.

Size screen? Do you mean resolution? I would stick with 1440p for this setup/GPU.
