For not much more than $40, could probably get one of the retro handhelds that would include all of these games and more. One that has hdmi out and is compatible with an external controller would allow option to play on the big screen.

At some point, they will have to drop the price on excess stock, as it seems the loyal Final Fantasy fan base and nostalgia group of gamers have already picked up a copy. The price conscious fans (myself included) are happy to wait until it goes below $30, and are likely perfectly ok with missing out if it doesn't. Nintendo has lost a lot of my business in the past decade by keeping prices high for their titles...I doubt Square Enix would stay afloat with the same strategy.

But you could just do that on your phone without having to carry an additional device.
The one thing that would with me is that SE would probably stop supporting it the second they release it and then it would stop working on newer mobile OSes like what happened to the mobile FFT.
