If you don't get a clean cut with tape, it may leave residue. I just had this problem last weekend lining some cabinets with double stick tape.

These scissors are seriously sharp. I knocked them off the counter and they thunked straight down into my foot like a cartoon with a B-horror movie blood fountain. My first ER trip since I was 10.

In for 3. I have several of the 8 inchers as well but size doesn't necessarily matter here and it can be easier to handle the shorter blades.
