Looks like they are new being sold as used without the warranty. That being said, I have owned a lot of guitars over the years and I don't think I have ever used the warranty once.

The only time I tried to was for a Gretsch.. thats when I found I had to drive an hour and 15 min to an "approved" repair shop. I chose to address myself.

I bought a cheaper Squier from Franklin guitar works recently. It came as if it was new in an unopened Squier box and all plastic on and Allen wrenches and manuals. The neck had several blemishes that I wasn't super happy with and when I asked them about it they offered a refund.
But I decided to keep it and ended up picking up a nicer neck from a different guitar that I also got for a screaming deal. Real happy with it.
