They tend to go on sale every 4-6 months, no subscription (but you will want/need a base station to have the best features). I'm beyond happy ditching Arlo for Eufy. They are very pro consumer and no signs of changing.
I bought their older version of permanent outdoor lights and needed 2 extension cables but they weren't selling em. They were kind enough to send me 2 at their expense. Definitely happy with their customer service
Eufy is the way to go.
