For those unaware, you will be able to get the newest Sonos Era 100's for only $320 at Costco in a few days on Nov 20th (Thurs). These are the upgraded version of the One SL. Better speakers, brand new, have Bluetooth and ability to connect a turntable for just $120 more than a pair of these refurbished One SL's.

This is still a great speaker. I love all of my Sonos gear (other than the recent mishap w/the app). Everything is working great again now.

FYI: You can't pair this via bluetooth, and depending on the app, you can't cast to it.

The Sonos One SL is a compact home speaker that sounds strong for its size and works well in stereo pairs or as a boost to a soundbar. It supports AirPlay 2 and uses WiFi, with easy control from phones and computers once set up. The main drawbacks are the Sonos app headaches, the lack of Bluetooth, and the need for AC power, so it is not truly portable. A solid pick for room audio if those limits fit your setup.

  • Listeners who want a compact speaker with strong sound for the size, because it has been described as sounding better than newer alternatives and working reliably for years.

    ge0hTimsixfour

  • People who want a simple Wi‑Fi speaker for everyday music, because it supports AirPlay 2 and can sound good once set up.

    slgraffggfergu

  • Home audio listeners building a stereo pair, because two units can be grouped for very full sound and easy control from computers and iOS devices.

    MoonMan

  • Households already using Sonos gear, because the speakers integrate across the home network and can play alongside a soundbar as an enhancement.

    PRBRaleigh

  • Buyers who need dependable app control, because the app can be buggy, remove saved songs, and make voice control stop working.

    gmanvbvaChilloutJawton

  • People who need hassle-free support after a problem, because setup and recovery can turn into a support nightmare and may require utility-app troubleshooting.

    rockmosamHDkyotejones

  • Shoppers who need a truly portable speaker for a shelf or bathroom, because it requires AC power and is not rechargeable.

    danteshorsseahawks

  • People who want Bluetooth pairing or easy casting from any app, because it cannot pair via Bluetooth and casting support can depend on the app.

For those who are comfortable with FB marketplace, these can be found for cheaper. Many sellers are willing to demo the speakers too.

Helped a coworker pickup a pair of Ones for $100 a few months back.

Bought 2 of these last time on sale at Meh.com, set them up as a stereo pair in my home office, could not be happier. Very full sound, ease of use from all of my computers and IOS devices is what makes them so great, can control volume and selections from any device in my house. You need to experience it to fully appreciate, My 2 cents.

BTW, I just bought 2 more!

uses the modern S2 app. but AI (fwiw) says there's at least one hardware version (printed on bottom of speaker) that requires the S1 app. I couldnt find anything official saying that.

Don't breath too hard when near it. Mine stopped working and I had to research to find that it requires the Google "Device Utility app" to bring back to life.
Unfortunately, mine was deader than dead and even that utility couldn't help.

As a long time user of Sonos products I strongly recommend NOT purchasing due to the worse APP on this planet. Despite promises and apology from the CEO on fixes and improvements. Look elsewhere !

From 1 comment above it seems that the Sonos are not wireless. Like I cannot just put them on a shelf where there is no access to a power source after charging them?

These specific One SL speakers require a power source. There are portable Sonos speaker options like the Move and Roam speakers.

Good price and good product when it works but man this looks like a support nightmare if you need help.
I got very good tech support a few weeks back.

Yeah. I agree with this. I loved Sonos so much. I have them all over my house, but every time they try to fix their app it gets so much worse.

Im not happy with Sonos support. I'd caution buying refurbished. Ive been having issues with my refurbished era 100s and so far support has only offered "unpair and repair" as a solution. Chat support twice and Phone support once.
