I was about to jump on this until I read the reviews. Kinda dangerous when they catch fire / explode.

1600 mAh (milliamp-hours). Not the same as 2400 mWh (milliwatt-hours). 1600 mAh x 1.5 volts = 2400 mWh

Possible fire hazard. Check the review photos.

Someone posted this in another SD post.

I'm not sure about these, should I try them?

"Xtar is very good. Hixon is good, Tenavolt is decent, EBL....and the new myriad of 'no name' Chinese batteries making exaggerated claims, not so much."

Go buy the Ikea Ladda, they are practically rebranded Eneloops they go for 9 to 11 bucks the ones in this post are a fire hazard.
For most things I'd say you are on the right track, but NIMH batteries push a lower voltage (1.2v) and have trouble in some devices that need 1.5V or some multiple of that.

These are not NiMH cells. They will burn up a charger if you put them in.

These lithium cells have their own use cases.
I've got 3 different brands or rechargeable lithium for blink cameras and they usually work great. For recharging I also do a 5V 1A charger, which I've seen they all request. There is a high chance people just plug it into whatever they have and it exceeds this which then messes up with the circuitry or wont let them charge. I'm buying a set of these too, $1.50/battery is solid RN

Going to give these a shot. I have a smart door lock that won't work with regular rechargeables due to the voltage being too low.
Not a recommended use case. These batteries provide 1.5v constant until depleted. Meaning that you will get no low battery warning. Ok for some devices, not ok for things like smoke detectors, or locks, unless you have your keys handy.

Got S&S discounts on top of it! Thanks OP. Rep'ed
Why would you need subscribe and save for rechargeable batteries? Seems like a red flag as to their durability.

All of the reviews showing exploding batteries are for the yellow version with the USB-C port in the side. This deal is for the black version with the port in the top.The only negative reviews for the black version say that they might be hit or miss as far as quality control goes and that people say that they might not hold a charge for very long.
I understand your comment, but this is the same company with the same tech.

It's not worth risking a fire/explosion hazard to save a few bucks.

Hit and miss as far as related to quality is a good thing.

That's precisely the reason it can catch fire. Quality control is paramount for home electronics, something that's going to be in your bedroom or study.

What's a good use case for these types of batteries?

I would personally just buy the Energizer lithium ones. I have them in my Nest smoke alarms (which light up when you walk past as well). I haven't had to change them in 3 years. They are ~$1.50 each.

I haven't tried these USB-C versions, but I have the micro USB version and they have been great. I have used them to power my Meta Quest 3 controllers and they have lasted much longer than my Eneloops and even longer than regular alkaline. I'm thinking about getting these for the USB-C.

Isn't there a new breed / new generation of those 1.5v Li-ion chargeable cells, where they would push constant 1.5v the same way as this one, but towards the end they would drop to ~1V to at least give your gadgets a chance to report "low battery" before the cells shut down?
Look for the "low voltage indicator" or "low battery reminder" feature.
