The Onyx Studio 8 is a large portable Bluetooth speaker that stands out for rich sound, strong bass, and a stylish design, with several comparisons putting it near much pricier speakers. It works well as a TV or apartment speaker, and pairing two units can create a wider stereo setup. The main drawbacks are its size and weight, limited portability, and battery life that can land around 6 hours or less. Pairing two speakers also has quirks, since the stereo link may need to be reactivated after power cycles or Bluetooth reconnects. A solid pick if you want big sound more than grab and go convenience.

Has any living being ever bought a HK speaker at full and largely inflated retail price?

That is why I am not a fan of Bluetooth speakers. A majority of them are single channel. If it isn't stereo I am not interested.

I got one for free from my internet provider, my entire house is filled with sonos speakers , this speaker almost compares to my sonos five! And it's Bluetooth and wireless. Definitely worth it for $100

Do you have to pair them with each use?
Yes and it was a pain in the rear. Sounded very good but would never buy the onyx for that purpose again.

I have studio 4, bass is something that you would expect from a premium system. Been using mine for 6+ years

There's no universe where this speaker sounds even remotely close to the Sonos 5, LOL. Guess people on here forgot how poor of QC and build quality the Onyx speakers are. These should be $150 MSRP and discounted by $50. $500 for this speaker is laughable that's more Thant 95% of Bluetooth speakers on the market. Also pairing these are a nightmare and one of mine starting crackling (bought for a secondary mini theater set up in a guest room) after 5-6 months.

Pairing these is a breeze and they sound amazing. Who buys one of these for a home theater? 🤣

I got one, five year old. Best sounding speaker in our home so far! Batteries died by now. We keep it plugged in.
You can replace the battery yourself (or on some of the larger Onyx, add a second battery for double the playback hours).

Harman is a subsidiary of Samsung, it is owned by the Samsung. At $99, I'd get 2 to pair them for stereo sound!
