How is this phone versus the standard 16? Is this a large downgrade or just missing the 1 extra camera on back?
don't quote me exactly, but from the quick research I did on this phone like 2 months ago, it seems very comparable to the iPhone 14 Pro specs besides the camera stuff

So, this is like we are paying $155 for a phone which we can only start really using after an YEAR, when/if it unlocks?

I am not giving any price consideration for the phone line service as almost all of us are getting it just to get the phone.

Not to mention the hassle of porting in a number and porting back out with a risk of even losing it!

The firm print makes it clear that 1 month of service is cheaper than 3 months + $100 GC. To get the $100 GC, you will need:

1) to fill out form after 3 months service
2) wait for GC while continuing to pay for service, so minimum pay for month 4
3) unknown processing time
4) have active service when GC is issued

Get iPhone 16e ON US.

Your phone is $99.99 via instant discount at checkout plus any applicable sales tax and ON US via $100 virtual prepaid Mastercard after your 3rd month of service. You'll need to pay for the first month of your plan (eligible plans start at $55 your first month & $50 with AutoPay). After your third month of service with your new line, you'll need to properly complete a form for your virtual prepaid Mastercard, which you can use online or in stores; no cash access & expires in 6 months. The Mastercard is issued by Sunrise Banks, N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to license from Mastercard International Inc. Mastercard is a registered trademark, and the circles design is a trademark of Mastercard International Incorporated. This card may be used everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted. Registration, activation, acceptance, or use of this card constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions stated in the Prepaid Card Agreement. This promotion is not associated, sponsored, or endorsed by Mastercard or Sunrise Banks N.A. Account must be active and in good standing when card is issued. You can get this deal on up to 2 lines. This offer isn't available if you're currently with T-Mobile or have been with Metro in the past 180 days. You'll need to verify your name & address to get this deal in stores. Like everything else in this world, this is available for a limited time and subject to change. See Terms & Conditions (including arbitration provision) at MetrobyT-Mobile.com.

I was with T-Mobile (seven years) and paying $152 for five lines. They wouldn't help me out with anything to stay. Just switched to AT&T and monthly is now $67. I lost "free" Netflix, so add on another $25 for apples/apples comp.

This deal is smoking if you are looking to switch. I really liked T-Mobile and had a good experience. If this is still available in 90 days and I can figure out how to get that 5th line, I'll port back over.
How do you have a $67 AT&T bill? Do you still have 5 lines?

What's the best way to stop paying the second month fee? Call them to terminate service, or port my number to Google? Thanks!

I guess service require for 1 month and unlock after 12 months requirement means I can just port out after 1 month and put the phone in the drawer for the next 11 months to wait for it to unlock?

I called the store, they said 1 year to unlock on active service. If account is not active, it would not unlock. Does anyone know if metro has changed their unlock policy? Could not find anything on their website

The stores are scammers.

Buy the phone online. Turn it on, activate it. Don't pay the next month bill, but don't port the number out.

After a year, it will SIM unlock. If you port out, it will not.

I get these metro deals when I have a spare number to port and throw it in a drawer. If they unlock great. If not I use them for trade ins.
