Why not just do 99+55 and call it a day?

For three months of un-needed service to role play the double life that'll never happen. Plus having the chance of the gift card never arriving?

But you're right, just cancel autopay that first month unless you're needing those extra 2 months of service.

How do you have a $67 AT&T bill? Do you still have 5 lines?
I had no intentions on switching when I had a 1gb fiber install. There was an install guy and a tech guy. The tech guy asked if he could give me a quote. With the combo of internet and cell, the internet was $37/month and five phone lines was $67. It was unlimited cell data and 30gb hotspot, which is more than i ever need. Of course, taxes and fees on top of that, and I lose my "free" Netflix from T-Mobile.

Because the deal does not stipulate what happens if you only pay for one month of service. I'd rather not take that risk. Metro is not known for being an easy company to buy from. And anyways, the price is the same in the end.

Only thing that happens is your line gets suspended and eventually cancel if you don't pay after the first month. If you want to make it cancel quicker, just port out the line before the month is over and the account will close.

So, 99 + 55 + 50 + 50 = 254, and after the third month ends, receive 100 virtual prepaid card (not redeem into paid card)?
Read the terms , your account must be active when the card is issued. You probably have to pay the 4th month in order to get the $100 virtual prepaid card.

Right. The total might need to be updated in the 'deal' title... I kind of starting feeling uncertain about it...

Well... It's kind of unclear if the 3 months are really needed for this specific 'deal'.
If they are only needed for $100 GC and cancelling the service earlier would not affect phone unlock then it's definitely $155 and might be worth it.
But I would check with their customer service. Just in case. But at least it's not clearly mandated anywhere on the deal's page. Maybe it's some fine print which requires 3 months subscription?

I have bought one Motorola phone from metro one and half years ago, but it won't let me to unlock it as it says one year of service required. So sad.

I've done many metro promos over the years and it used to be you only need to pay 1 month during activation and then you can just let it sit for 6 months and phone will unlock afterwards. They've since changed it to a year and I haven't tested if it's the same yet. If you're concerned with unlocking the phone then I wouldn't go with this promo. It still won't unlock after 3 months. You'll need to wait the full year for it to unlock.

I have the phone in my cart.

I wont mind if it wont unlock for an year.

For 155..phone plus one month of service is still a deal.

What do you guys think? Can I cancel service after 1 month,

Their unlock policy states 'Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date. ' No mention of 1 year service.

Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:
The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date.

$100 GC not worth it: The fine print spells out the terms for the $100 GC, and it's not good. You will need to apply for it AFTER your 3 paid months, and must have active service when they issue you the GC. So that sounds like 4+ months of paid service. See original post for terms.

Tracfone port in number process: I successfully used Tracfone as a port in number provider for this 16e deal. Cost $10 + tax. All port out info can be obtained on website or through automated 611611.
