I got this from Dell using my Amex promo a couple weeks ago, it's absolutely beautiful compared to my old ultrawide. My only problem now is my 3080 is running 60-70 fps at 240 hz.

What is that supposed to mean? Either it's running 60-70fps or it's running 240hz.

It's actually doing both. FPS is what the computer is putting out and the hz is how fast the monitor is updating. It doesn't really matter if the monitor is updating at 240 hz when you're only running a game at 60 frames, but it isn't exactly the same.

I sincerely hope someone is there to catch me with a reach like that next time I say something stupid.
This or the older model (AW3423DWF) for $150 less? I am thinking the older model because I am thinking i'll be happy with a max of 165hz.
I went with the older model, 240hz doesn't really appeal to me, the only thing I'll be missing is the HDMI 2.1 for future proofing. I got my AW3423DWF order down to $408 using the 10% newsletter coupon and AMEX 100 off 500 offer, so I'm quite happy to gamble on OLED at that price.

Well I just went for the newer one and HOLY S---! I had a 1080p 34" for like $1k when it came out years ago. The only gripe I have is that the included cables are way too short but other then that it's perfect. I was so scared about the transition to 1440p as it takes more gpu power. At this point I can either have gsync manage it or currently I have battlefield capped at 160 and it's smooth with some gpu to spare but not noticing any spikes. No ghosting and bright enough when the room is dark. I am just surprised that it's a perfect monitor and no problems with it-something that doesn't usually happen.
