Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

PSA for former SYW credit card holders: you can use the card for the pay in 4. IYKYK.

So I was able to choose my Citi ShopYourWay credit card for the autopay which I currently have multiple offers on which should all stack:

- $100 statement credit on $1000 or more online spend
- $50 statement for $1500 or more spend
- 10% statement for $800 or more retail spend up to $100

I ended up getting an openbox "excellent" macbook air m4 for ~1114 total.

If it ends up working out, I'll get $472.80 back in points and statement credit.

Edit: Big YMMV since I just realized I don't know how PayPal will MCC code the payments, it may become ineligible based on the terms of the SYW card offer.

Ahhh.. that old sears card... The gift that truly keeps on giving... with that said, have you confirmed that will all stack with it? Last couple times I tried to use paypal it didnt count as online shopping for some reason... plus, I believe it shows up as paypal so wont count as retail spend?

I just tried to use to buy iPhone through Apple and at first I had the pay in 4 option when I selected PayPal. But then it gave me an error message when I tried to complete the transaction and now it doesn't show the pay in 4 option - only the monthly pay later. Anyone able to successfully use w Apple?
Waited and tried again and was able to do the pay in 4 option. Hope the cash back comes through!

Haven't used PayPal for a while, can someone please explain how funding works and fees involved? for example, 1) I buy something at anyretailerXXX.com, 2) use paypal to pay...how does Paypal fund the purchase? a) immediately debits my bank account linked to my Paypal account (no fee), b) charges my credit card linked to my Paypal account (fee ~3%).
Last, if I do this "pay later" in 4 installments, then it's same as above only that it debits my bank account or charges my credit card 4 times as the installments come due?
Also, the paypay 20% cashback goes into my paypal account and then what? can I withdraw to my bank account, does it stay in my PayPal account to use for other PayPal transactions... when do I get the cashback? immediately, end of the month, after all installment payments have been paid?

I just realized that given the SYW card offers have some terms/conditions attached, these pay in 4 payments may not be eligible for their offers.

Specifically, I noticed in one of the offers, it says:
Quote :
do not include the following types of purchases in the following categories: subscription, membership or recurring purchases
So I edited my post to include this being a huge YMMV thing.

I had to unfreeze my Equifax to get the deal. The points do show up correctly in activity though.

Transaction at 7:30 this morning.

I purchased something for Dick's Sporting Goods using Pay in 4 on Nov. 17 but I didn't know about this deal. Do I have to save this deal in PayPal and repurchase the product to get the cashback?

What's the 5% cashback on Chase? You can't use your credit card for the paylater.

My wells fargo card worked fine. Using it for my CC signing bonus. Getting $450 off a laptop this way

How do you use this with eBay? Do you have to choose PayPal credit @ check out?
This is a separate link/option on ebay during checkout. It is not credit. It'll say pay in 4 at the bottom of the payment choices. Credit will be another option. It has to be over $30. And if the vender disallows it(rarely), you won't see it.

So just to clarify!!I buy something for $1000. 1- I earn $200 (20% of $1000) in PayPal points? 2- I make 25% payment of $250 right away3- Make 3 more payments of $250?4- And as long as I dont miss my payments, no interest charges? That sounds about right?
It doesn't charge interest if you are late. It does hit your credit report. This is the down side. It doesn't help your credit report for paying on time, but it can destroy it for not doing so. Personally, I only buy what I have cash on hand to buy outright.

Is there a max number of purchases / plans you can have at a time? I successfully made two $200 purchases but now the Pay in 4 option no longer shows up at checkout.
