Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

pending right? GCs are excluded from this offer per the terms and conditions. paypal apparently has access to order details. but you could get lucky. I am not gonna risk it
Also, is it any different than people buying GCs versus actual stuff?

We were talking about the Virtual Gift Card that I bought from Kroger - to spend at Costco to buy Costco cash card.

how did you get the PayPal option to show up in Bestbuy.com?
It just showed up for me. If you have already made too many Pay in 4 purchases (usually two in a day) or exceeded your lending power (as PP decides it), you may have to wait 24hrs for it to appear as an option again.

Same here. Purchased $1250 in visa gift cards at target. The Points show up as pending. Crossing fingers that they won't review every transaction to see if gift cards were purchased.

Is there really no way to use this with Aliexpress without incurring those advance payment fees? I really wanted to use the 20% for an order.

Paypal says it will require unfreeze the credit for a soft pull. Sounds weird. Has it been confirmed it is really a soft pull, not a hard pull?

Buy GC that you don't regret in case they revert the points. I bought $600 visa gift cards for $605 which I will anyway use like cash. Great if they dont claw back the point, I will save $121 in points.

Yes they were $6 per card each. I bought 2 x $500 and 1x $250 for a Total of $18 for the $1250 visa gc. Worst case scenario is i will be out $18 if they retract the reward points.

Good Lord, this is freaky. I'm making a ton of purchases but I'm not getting any points pending.

Paypal CS insists that I'm enrolled though. I better get my F'ing CB or I'm gonna blow my top.
