11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

Our accounts might just not be eligible for Samsung. It doesn't work for BestBuy nor Ebay, but it works for Home Depot.
I checked the PayPal app and there is a small list of merchants that's available to my account. I'm guessing those are the only ones that I'm able to use it with at this time.
If you have a Chase Freedom credit card that requires the quarterly activation for certain categories to get 5% cash back, there is a way to double dip an extra 5% and increase this PayPal offer from 20% to 25% cash back in the month of December only. This is possible because Chase is offering 5% cash back only in the month of December for PayPal purchases. So to get the 25%, link your Chase Freedom credit card to your PayPal account and pay for everything with PayPal Pay Later using only that activated Chase Freedom credit card, and make sure all of your purchases are only in the month of December and no other time. This extra 5% cash back is actually coming from Chase and is good for up to $1,500 in combined purchases.
