Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Select PayPal Credit and then go thru the process of applying for credit with PalPal. You will have to unfreeze your credit report with TransUnion before it will be approved. Once you are approved, you can then select Pay in 4.
For me it was Equifax. I did a temporary unfreeze, and all was good.

Question, if I use pay monthly option and then pay off immediately, do I still need to pay any interest charges? Little confused on how this works. My pay in 4 disappeared after some errors about unusual activity so I'm kinda stuck

I did a monthly and paid it off immediately. It does not appear that I was charged any interest.

I needed some new tires, so with this and the Continental tire rebate ($110), I'm saving $235 on a new set of tires. Not too bad for something I was going to buy soon anyway.

Since my Walmart orders were immediately canceled twice in a row and my Pay in 4 was rejected due to "unusual activity", I am waiting for it to appear again. But I suspect it will come back again, as I had message before from closing out of the Paypal too many times.

That said, the maximum of combined orders is $5000 according to the terms, not $250.

When were you given the rejection? I'm wondering how long it takes to have the option available again after that happens. I think my rejection was due to switching which credit card I was using during the checkout process.

I'm assuming Staples' system is not consistent and that I just randomly got unlucky. Unfortunately, that bad luck really hosed me.
I placed the same order last night. It was cancelled this morning because "we require additional information." I called them and they said that the order was cancelled due to "unverifiable information," and that if placed the order again it would likely be cancelled due to the same reason.

Did the reward points still show pending?

Wasn't given a rejection on my two attempts at Walmart. All indications were that it was successful during the Pay in 4 process and finalizing the order, including Walmart thanking me for my order and showing the total and how much I saved. I hadn't checked email yet, and only difference at Paypal was that it wasn't showing the number of points, it just said "points pending". That's when I went to my email and saw that I had gotten an immediately cancellation from Walmart. They just said it was a mistake by their automated security, and it happened twice.

I tried it a third time with a much reduced order, and that time it did decline me for unusual activity. So, I'm in a waiting period for Pay in 4 to show up again. Last time I got that message, the option showed up the next day. It's only been 7 1/2 hours since that problem. So, I think it will take some more time, maybe until tomorrow.

I don't see the option to save the 20% cash back offer to PayPal. Is it necessary to do that before doing the Pay in 4? If so, where do I save the offer? It doesn't show up when I click the ad on Paypal.com

Yes and they promised to do a soft pull but now require a credit file unfrozen?

The legal terms are really not clear. I can interpret is as you get 20% cash back $250 in total up to payments made of $1250. Then payments after up to $5,000 which is only $3,750 is 5% cash back which is $187.50. So max cash back is $437.50

I see the offer under "rewards". And if I click on it, it has a button "shop now". I think that said "save offer" the first time.
